In high school I was big on poetry, and I loved this book, it included poetry and other writings by teenage girls of color (about their lives, the things they go through as women, and the pride they have in their heritage), but honestly, the writings were so good, it can be considered an adult book also. I'm actually compelled to go read it again! I couldn't find any excerpts online, but I promise its worth it!
